About Me

My photo
sammmomtoliv
I have 5 kids (almost 6) and a wonderful husband. I was a teacher and in an English doctoral program until I had my first daughter. I discovered I really love being a stay-at-home mother. My husband and I found out that we both carry the gene for Cystic Fibrosis (a 1:4 chance our child will have the disease) and this led us to decide to adopt. What a blessing in disguise! We have 2 bio kids who are, thankfully, healthy. We have adopted 3 kids from China (and counting!), 2 of whom have cleft lip and palate and my littlest one has ectrodactyly. We are in the process of adopting a 7-year-old boy whom we met 3 years ago while adopting Ellie, and have been trying to adopt ever since.
